Appointment Process

Parties may jointly nominate an arbitrator from the Roster within fourteen days of the Request for Arbitration. Where parties fail to agree, the Institution appoints through a random, sequential rotation system to ensure impartiality. Formal appointment is made through an Appointment Instrument (Form B6), specifying the matter, the arbitrator's role, and the date of appointment.

Every arbitrator must complete the Conflict of Interest and Independence Disclosure Form (Form B7) and maintain a continuing duty of disclosure throughout the proceedings. All arbitrators must take and subscribe to the Oath of Integrity (Schedule A) before assuming appointment.
